About Me

Hi, I'm David.

I'm a BSc Nutritional Therapy student, I run a joinery company, I'm a husband, dad of four, and someone who has spent much of his adult life trying to understand what it means to be truly healthy.

For many years, I have lived with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS), a chronic inflammatory condition that affects the spine and joints. Like many people diagnosed with a long-term condition, I entered a healthcare system that was very good at naming my disease and prescribing medication, but less focused on helping me understand why my body was struggling in the first place.

Appointments were brief. Prescriptions were renewed. Blood tests were monitored.

But beyond that, I often felt largely left to manage on my own.

No one talked to me about food.

No one talked to me about sleep.

No one talked to me about stress, movement, gut health, blood sugar, or the countless everyday factors that influence how we feel.

I accepted that this was simply the way things were.

Then something unexpected happened.

Almost by accident, I began experimenting with my diet.

Initially, I wasn't looking for a miracle. I simply wanted to see whether changing what I ate could make any difference to how I felt.

The results were profound.

As I moved towards a ketogenic-style diet, my symptoms improved dramatically. My energy changed. My pain reduced. My stiffness eased. I felt more in control of my health than I had in years.

Under medical supervision, I was eventually able to stop the medications I had relied upon.

That experience changed the course of my life.

For the first time, I realised that food was far more than calories. It was information. It was communication. It was one of the most powerful tools available to support health.

I became fascinated by the body's incredible capacity to adapt, repair and heal when given the right conditions.

That curiosity led me to study Nutritional Therapy.

Today, I am completing my Nutritional Therapy degree whilst continuing to run a successful joinery business that I have built over the past two decades.

I don't come from a medical background.

I come from the real world.

I understand what it's like to balance family, work, finances, stress, exhaustion, and health challenges all at the same time.

I understand what it's like to search for answers.

And I understand what it's like to feel that your body is working against you.

My approach is rooted in both science and experience.

I believe modern medicine is remarkable and has an essential role to play. But I also believe that nutrition, lifestyle, movement, sleep, connection, and our relationship with nature are often overlooked foundations of health.

The body is not a collection of isolated symptoms.

It is an interconnected system.

When we support the foundations, remarkable things can happen.

Not overnight.

Not through magic.

Not through extreme diets or expensive supplements.

But through consistent, sustainable changes that work with the body rather than against it.

The Gentle Reset was created to share that message.

A reminder that health doesn't always require another app, another gadget, or another quick fix.

Sometimes it begins with slowing down.

Eating real food.

Getting outside.

Sleeping well.

Managing stress.

Moving your body.

And trusting that nature still has much to teach us.

As a husband, dad of four, business owner, and someone who continues to navigate his own health journey every day, my goal is simple:

To help people understand their bodies, make informed choices, and discover that even small changes can create meaningful improvements in how they feel.

Because sometimes the most powerful transformations don't come from doing more.

They come from returning to the basics we were designed for.

Welcome to The Gentle Reset.
